We could not be more thrilled for Jaime McKay and Chris who just welcomed their sweet baby girl into the world! I visited the proud parents at the hospital this afternoon to photograph some of the precious first moments of having baby Avery here, and couldn’t help but share this sweet image. Look at how Chris is in total adoration of his beautiful baby girl… I love it!

Huge congrats to the new Mom and Dad!! We are so very proud of you and incredibly happy for you as you have joined the ranks of parenthood! :)

We have so enjoyed photographing this little guy over the past year, and can’t believe his Baby’s First Year sessions are over! We had a fabulous one year portrait session with him, complete with a cake smash :) Well… sort of… He didn’t go crazy with the cupcake at all. I get it though; I was never one to get messy either! Anyway, enjoy a few of our favorite film photographs from the day!

It’s hard to believe this little guy just turned one year old! After a year of watching him grow and photographing his Baby’s First Year portraits, we had such a fun time celebrating his first birthday at his one year session a few days ago, complete with lots of balloons and a cupcake for him to dig into! Our Sweet Baby Girl | Indiana Baby Portraits {Snow Day!}

I’ve always loved a good snow, even though I really don’t like the cold. The way I see it, if it’s going to be cold, there may as well be some pretty snow on the ground! A couple weeks ago, we woke up to several inches of snow on the ground, snow covered branches on the trees, and huge snowflakes floating down from the sky. It was beautiful! We decided to go ahead and get bundled up and head outside with our baby girl to snap a few portraits while the snow was still falling, and I am so glad we did…. not only did we get some fun photos of us all, we would have missed our chance if even waiting one more hour. All of the snow was completely gone by then! I’ll always cherish these sweet photos of our little family playing in the snow :) Indiana Baby Portraits.

Baby R | Louisville Baby Portraits {Baby’s First Year}

This little man just turned one year old, and it’s hard to believe the time has gone by so fast! We were thrilled to photograph his Baby’s First Year portraits and watch him grow over the past year and to celebrate this awesome adventure with his parents, who we worked with a few years ago when we photographed their engagement and wedding. It’s always so fun and such a blessing when our previous wedding clients ask us to photograph their babies! While we did just recently photography this little guy’s one year portraits, I thought we’d go back and share some images from his previous sessions first, starting with the newborn session. Eric and I were thrilled and honored when Jaime McKay and Chris asked us to photograph their maternity portraits. We met this wonderful couple a few years ago when they were planning their wedding, and enjoyed every moment of working with them for their engagement portraits, wedding photography, and anniversary portraits, so naturally we were excited to hear they are having a baby and that they wanted us to photograph this new special chapter of their lives! We all braved the cold, windy, dreary day yesterday for their maternity session at Whitehall in Louisville, yet in this photo you would never even know how cold we all were! Jaime McKay looks absolutely gorgeous and glowing! I simply couldn’t wait to share it :)

Our Sweet Baby Girl | Louisville Birth Story Photography

For the past year or so, we have totally slacked on blogging. We know that. We have had such an abundance of gorgeous weddings and lovely portrait sessions that we could have blogged something new every few days. So where have we been, you ask? What’s caused us to neglect posting all these beautiful images? Well, for the first 9 months of the year, amongst normal business that keeps us busy enough, we were also busy preparing for the arrival of our sweet baby girl, who finally made her appearance on September 15th. Since then, we’ve been enjoying and adjusting to this amazing new life as parents :) We realize that we are a bit behind in sharing these images from the day our Little Bug was born, but better late than never, right?

I have to offer a huge thanks to two very wonderful friends of ours for a portion of these images. Tammy Howell was there all night with us to capture the birth of our precious baby, and Michelle of Studio E was there to capture a few sweet moments later that day. Tammy and Michelle, we could never thank you enough for these!
